A national health plan sought to increase colorectal cancer screenings for 50,000 African American, Asian, Hispanic Latino, and Caucasian members. The health plan needed to make sure that each message was language-specific and ethnically appropriate for each target group.
The health plan partnered with Personify Health’s engagement team to target and conduct outreach to the various populations. Since leveraging Personify Health’s engagement services, they have seen significant results including:
Challenge
- Drive an increase in colorectal cancer screenings for a population of 50,000 African American, Asian, Hispanic Latino, and Caucasian members.
- Each individual message needed to be language-specific and ethnically appropriate for each target group.
Solution
- Partnered with Personify Health engagement team to target and conduct outreach via interactive, automated calls with personalized and HIPAA compliant messages. A letter was sent if the person could not be reached by phone.
- Each outreach was framed in the person’s projected ethnicity, and reminded members on the importance of getting a colon cancer screening (e.g. for the Hispanic-Latino members, a male voice was used to help drive screening rates for the population).
- Also include automatic transfers to a 24×7 nurse line and a barrier survey to help determine personal obstacles.
