The role of Payroll Analyst role will attend to the day-to-day operations of our payroll department (specifically within Workforce Now, Essential Time and Enterprise Enhanced Time) to ensure timely and accurate payroll process deadlines are met and that internal guidelines are followed while managing all phases of benefits administration and maintenance of employee programs. This role will take care in the interaction with employees to address, assist, and resolve all employee payroll related issues. In addition to the above, this role should be knowledgeable in payment of sales commissions monthly and skillfully able to assist with management of the Company’s bonus program, while assisting with other HR compliance initiatives, projects and events.

 

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

  • Full-cycle payroll processing (calculations, data collection & input, process & reconciliation) for approximately 1800 US employees on a bi-weekly schedule.
  • Assist with quarter-end/year-end processes, including validating and producing W2s & payroll tax filings.
  • Produce off-cycle payments, process termination payments according to state specific guidelines.
  • Maintain [email protected] mailbox by responding to questions and saving all payroll related changes to the appropriate corresponding company code folders
  • Prepares reports from ADP WFN database for employee benefit and payroll audits for HR and Finance.
  • Ensures the accurate processing of all mandatory and voluntary deductions as well as garnishments, liens, direct deposit requests, 401K loans, etc.
  • Manage compliance controls pertaining to payroll administration. Stay abreast of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure all payroll processes are complying accordingly.
  • In partnership with ADP Tax services, set-up new tax jurisdictions and maintain existing state & local filings.
  • Serve as a back-up to the International Payroll Processor
  • Fully comply with all statutory payroll legislation and deal with any inquiries from government agencies
  • Manage timecard approvals; confirming accuracy based on state and federal rules, importing and reconciling of hours, troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed.
  • Processes monthly commission and bonus payments, as well as all special compensation and incentives with the highest standard of accuracy and timeliness and in accordance with SOX requirements
  • Prepare year-end incentive accrual for Finance and reconcile accruals to actuals as incentives are paid
  • Analyze current payroll policies and procedures and recommend best practices for efficiency and accuracy. Keeps current in trends and regulations as they relate to the payroll function
  • Complies with internal audit controls, ACA, FLSA, COBRA, SOX compliance, tax and other payroll and benefits related legislation
  • Ability to create and analyze reports on an as needed basis.
  • Prepares and maintains standard and ad hoc reports, queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity
  • Responds to inquiries and verifications for unemployment and other payroll-related data
  • Ability to take initiative when tackling payroll issues that arise
  • Perform other duties and or special projects as necessary

What you bring to the Personify Health team:

 

In order to represent the best of what we have to offer you come to us with a multitude of positive attributes including:

  • A minimum 3 years of direct payroll processing experience with multi-state payrolls
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is highly desirable but not required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with using ADP Workforce Now and ADP Time & Attendance.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with multi-state payroll is essential.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with managing federal, state, and other related laws and regulations regarding payroll and benefits including overtime, ACA, COBRA, FLMA, ERISA and HIPAA.

  • Full knowledge of payroll and general knowledge of accounting practices and principles
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the process and flow of information between internal applications to proactively anticipate issues and ensure desired outcomes
  • Ability to utilize ADP Reporting to develop and produce ad hoc reports for HR and / or Finance team
  • Thorough understanding of gross to net calculations
  • Must be able to work with highly sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Excellent communications and customer services skills. Ability to interface well with a variety of employees at all levels under deadline pressure required
  • Must be able to accurately multi-task and extreme attention to detail is essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required skills.

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $65,000 to $70,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for 10% target bonus/variable compensation as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
