Who are you?

 

As the Director of Payroll, you will oversee all aspects of the payroll function within our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations, and implementation of best practices in payroll administration. The role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

  • Manage and supervise the payroll team to ensure efficient operation of the payroll department.
  • Oversee the accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to payroll processing and reporting.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues and ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices, update policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management and audit purposes.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
  • Implementing and improving payroll-related processes and systems as needed.
  • Responsible for management payroll specialist.
  • Manage relationship with payroll service provider ensuring quality of service
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to finance and accounting to support the monthly financial statement close and reporting obligations
  • Identify and address any wage inclusion obligations
  • Address payroll tax notices received in partnership with service provider to minimize related risks and liabilities
  • Identify and address any account closures needed or new registrations and filing obligations timely
  • Ability to plan for and address impacts of future acquisitions
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the Personify Health team:

 

In order to represent the best of what we have to offer you come to us with a multitude of positive attributes including:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.

  • Proven experience as a leader in payroll, with at least 10 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, laws, and regulations.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems such as ADP.

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in payroll software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $140,000 to $150,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for 15% target bonus/variable compensation as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
